Story Cards

ANYONE CAN USE ONE OR MORE OF
OUR CARDS TO TELL A STORY

Friends, family members, and colleagues can use Eyes Nine Story Cards to tell a fantastical tale, connect with a personal memory, or explore an issue their community is facing. This can be done informally or through one of our games.

Artists and writers can use a card to inspire a drawing, a piece of music, or a sculptural creation.

Educators and parents can use the cards to help learners build vocabulary and narrative skills.

Facilitators working with adults can use the cards to encourage personal sharing and build connection.

We are Storytellers

STORYTELLING IS POWERFUL

It has always been part of how humans connect with one another, impart information, and shape and maintain shared values.

We use stories in our inner lives too. People naturally seek to make sense of their experience by creating a narrative that connects individual moments together.

Storytelling is a great tool for revealing to ourselves the types of yarns we tend to tell. As we build the muscle for telling stories, we learn to tell better and more intentional tales. We may even get better at seeing moments for what they are, without the need to overlay our own narrative. Oh, and telling stories is a lot of fun.

Story Card Games

Groups can use Eyes Nine Story Cards to tell a fantastical tale, connect with a personal memory, or explore an issue their community is facing.

For informal use, simply pull a card from the deck and start spinning your tale. If you want a little structure, or a bit of competition, you can try one of our games below.

About Our Story Cards

A mother and daughter created Eyes Nine Story Cards. Alexandra was nine and sixteen when she drew her cards. Georgia wanted to do a project with her daughter, a burgeoning artist, and has always liked collaborative storytelling. The pictures come from dreams, personal experience, and the imagination.
